The first month of 2017 is nearly over and many people are struggling on how to maintain a regular fitness workout routine. The most important things to achieve fitness are definitely diet and exercise. These two are the most difficult to keep. In fact maintaining diet and exercise can sometimes be painful. Having a regular fitness workout routine is never easy especially when you’re a newbie in the world of fitness. You can literally feel your body burning in pain after each workout. Maintaining good eating habits is also challenge. Cheat days are lurking around every corner, waiting to pounce on you as soon as your motivation wavers. The good news is that diet changes can be overcome with the help of high quality plant based protein smoothies.
However, a regular fitness workout routine is a different story. It takes motivation and willpower. It’s easy enough to start, but maintaining it is the problem.
Is it even possible to maintain a regular fitness workout routine?
As impossible as it may sound, the answer is yes. Here’s what you can do to ensure that you will be able to maintain your fitness workout routine continuously:
- Choose a fitness workout routine that you can enjoy
You don’t really need to sign up for extreme sports type of workout routine in order to get your fitness goals on point. Choose something easy and fun, something enjoyable! Some of these include cycling, running, swimming, yoga and a lot more. These activities can be refreshing and fun so you won’t feel every calorie burning.
- Exercise at least three times a week but don’t OVERDO it
Aiming to exercise every single day is a good thing at the beginning. However, as time goes on, it’s easy to get distracted and burned out. It’s better to start slow and increase the frequency of your workouts naturally as you go along than start strong but end up exhausted after a month. You can choose one to three workout activities that you can do alternately for the week. For instance, you can go cycling on Mondays, Swimming on Wednesdays and running on Fridays. Your exercise routine can last for about 30 minutes each session, maximum an hour – never try to overexert yourself.
- Allow yourself to rest
Make sure you get plenty of sleep at night. It will give your body time to recover and adjust to your new fitness routine. Make sure to have at least one rest day in a week too. As you start out, a day of rest between workouts is also pretty ideal to prevent burn outs.
- Hydrate Yourself and Get Plenty of Nutrition
You won’t get any heavier no matter how much water you drink. You will surely lose a lot of fluids during workout, so make sure to replenish your fluid storage. Eat healthy too. Avoid sugar and processed food. Go for organic as much as possible. Cut back on your calories but increase your protein intake. If you decide to take protein supplements, make sure you’re getting high quality plant based protein powder supplements instead of whey to avoid indigestion. We promise, you will get so much more from a good plant based protein powder than your money’s worth.
These tips are pretty simple to follow. With these, you can reach the fitness goals you’ve set for yourself this year without any problem.
