

Chocolate Mint or Peppermint: Uses and Benefits
This acai smoothie bowl was inspired by the massive amounts of wildly growing chocolate mint on my little porch. We have planted a whole bunch of lettuces and herbs, and the chocolate mint seems to be doing wonderfully. Actually, it’s taking over the other herbs, and needed to be used urgently.
I get very happy when I can add greens to my meal, in a way that tastes amazing and actually adds to the flavor of my food. Peppermint is wonderful for digestion and any conditions related to stomach health. It’s also great for good breath. Peppermint is very calming and stress-relieving, helps relieve headaches, and alleviates muscle pain. You can easily use it in a tea, or in a smoothie or juice (blended with watermelon, it tastes incredible).
It’s wonderfully exciting to be making your very own raw vegan version of an acai smoothie bowl. While you can easily find this at many smoothie shops these days, I promise you that the home-made version I make always turns out much better.
INGREDIENTS
• 100 g frozen acai make sure it has no preservatives
• 4 frozen very ripe and cheetah-spotted bananas
• 5 Medjoul dates
• 1/2 cup water or pure coconut water
• 2 tablespoons chocolate mint leaves only, or to taste*
• 1 tablespoon raw carob powder
• Pinch of vanilla powder or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• *If you don’t have chocolate mint you can use a drop of pure peppermint extract instead

INSTRUCTIONS
Blend everything in a high speed blender, and top withts
Variation 1: hemp seeds, cacao nibs, and freeze-dries strawberries
Variation 2: goji berries and freeze-dried raspberries
